This week I am trying a new wine…High Note, Elevated, Malbec 2011. It is an Argentinian wine from the Uco Valley, Mendoza. The grapes are grown at various vineyards located at 3,200 – 5,000 feet above sea level…definitely some Elevated grapes! Personally, I am a huge fan of Argentinian wines, so I was excited to try this one.
Here are the details:
Aromas of violet, jasmine, and ripe red fruits. The palate opens with notes of
plums and toffee and gives way to hints of almonds and cinnamon. Round
tannins lead into a ripe fruit finish.
A highly heralded match with grilled meats, complementing rich smoky flavors
with the wine’ s ripe juicy profile. Also pairs well with grilled or roasted vegetables, pasta dishes and rich sauces.
I bought this wine from my local grocer for about $16.00. You can check out their website for more info and where to purchase this wine. It is well balanced and delightfully delicious. As you can see from my picture, the bottle is empty!
What are you sipping on this week?
